Just cvsupped my fileserver about an hour ago and am now getting these messages intermittently (each immediately following a 2-3 second total freeze of the box, including the console). ad6: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting ata3: resetting devices .. done ad6: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting ata3: resetting devices .. ata3-slave: ATA identify retries exceeded done ad4: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting ata2: resetting devices .. done ...with this hardware: atapci2: port 0xc400-0xc40f,0xc000-0xc003,0xbc00-0xbc07,0xb800-0xb803,0xb400-0xb407 irq 10 at device 16.0 on pci0 It's worked perfectly until today. Sorry, Soren :-( At least it hasn't panicked so far. Anyway, just thought I'd report this so that everybody's aware there may be a problem with these cards and stable. I've attached the boot messages with bootverbose, as well as a few of the error messages with it on also in case it helps track anything down. This box is somewhat important to me, so I'm in the process of downgrading to RELENG_4_5. This should be a fun buildworld :D Craig bootverbose dmesg: Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
