No. However, if you've got your kernel config file in /usr/src/sys/i386/conf then make sure you've got a backup copy of it outside of the /usr/src hierarchy. It's too easy to think "These sources seem to be corrupt, I'll remove them and install a fresh set." and then get that sinking feeling 30 minutes later when you realise you blew away your kernel configuration file. As long as you follow the 'make world' tutorial linked to from the Handbook things should go smoothly.
