When I do: # kill -HUP 1 My log screen shows: guardian init: port /dev/ttyv3 changed utmp index from 6 to 5 guardian init: port /dev/ttyv3 changed utmp index from 5 to 6 "At the same time," a new login prompt is printed on ttyv3. If I'm logged into ttyv3 at the time, I'm forcibly logged out. It doesn't happen on any other terminals.
