So I'll have to get the system back into the right state. Amusingly, I thought maybe I could save time and reproduce this on a VM, and that provided a quick reminder that I need to open a bug about the graphical console going away with the 12.0 install media. (It looks like a freeze until you check the serial console, and see that it's switched over to it. This appears under libvirt.)
