On 5.4, there is not an extra column, but top -S includes each CPU's idle percentage as a separate system process, so you can get some idea of how well balanced things are. Perhaps the description above was for 7-CURRENT and 6.1-R acts more like 5.4. I don't have a 6.1 SMP system to test it on. 5.4 also doesn't seem to have mptables. - Bob
