I think I speak for everyone in the FreeBSD Community when I say that
George does not necessarily speak for everyone in the FreeBSD 
Community.  :)

You bring up a very good point, and I think there SHOULD be a Y2K 
statement put on the freebsd.org site.  (If there is one already, I 
couldn't find it.)  Until such a page appears, the Linux page you 
found applies equally well for any 32-bit Unix (with the exception of 
a couple of Linux-specific libraries they mention).
