There are several ways to install FreeBSD, as covered in the handbook and INSTALL.TXT. The two methods you are requesting info on are installing via FTP and installing from a DOS partition. If you install using the FTP method you don't need to know which directories to download. Using the DOS partition method you do. Here is the breakdown: >From the 2.2.5-RELEASE directory INSTALL.TXT - A must to install /bin - A must to install /floppies - A must to install /tools - A must to install /manpages - A must to keep sane /XF86331 - X windows /doc - various documentation that for some reason excludes handbook and FAQ The rest is on the as needed bases. Rudy. P.S. We should probably shoot this over to the doc team since this questions is asked very often. ---Led Duk <LedDuk@aol.com> wrote: > > Hi, > I am apparently quite confused concerning downloading Free BSD.
