One of the things I did, was uncomment NO_SENDMAIL= true I decided not to enable it because 4.x is still using 8.9.3 however I had installed 8.10.2 I noticed after my installworld, kernel recompile and reboot, that it did indeed make and install sendmail. When I booted the box back up, it gave me error messages about having an incompatible (ie, newer) .cf than binary. As I said before I don't know if this issue has been addressed in the past, but I thought I would bring it to your attention.
