It seemed to work (meaning that I had what I guess was a basic X window/screen with no windows in it.) Unfortunately this is my first time dealing with XFree86, so I have no idea how to use it. Could someone point me to a good XFree86 for FreeBSD (or generic, if that's all there is or is needed) site? I generally can muddle my way through if there is something to read on the matter (except 'man' pages, which often leave me glazed over, but that's another story). Thanks for your help.
