I am still using the generic kernal, although the rebuild is on its way... I have a newly supported (thanks guys) 3c905c-TX NIC. All of the networking seems to be working fine, with the exception of one thing, and that it I cannot ping myself. I get an ARPresolve failure. I was thinking that there was a DNS problem, since I am using an external server, but that wasn't it. I checked ifconfig -a, and found that my 3c905c is working in half-duplex mode. Could this be the problem? Thanks in advance. Chuck ------=_NextPart_000_0016_01BF1024.6BA97D00 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

Hell(o) everyone,
I have just = installed freebsd=20 3.3 on my Pentium class system.  I am still using the generic = kernal,=20 although the rebuild is on its way...  I have a newly supported = (thanks=20 guys) 3c905c-TX NIC.
All of the = networking seems to=20 be working fine, with the exception of one thing, and that it I cannot = ping=20 myself.  I get an ARPresolve failure.  I was thinking that = there was=20 a DNS problem, since I am using an external server, but that wasn't = it. =20 I checked ifconfig -a, and found that my 3c905c is working in = half-duplex=20 mode.  Could this be the problem?

Thanks in advance.
