These are all very minimalist window managers but I have found them
to be unpleasant to work with.  Window Maker is also a relatively
small and fast window manager with a richer look and interface (modeled 
after NeXTSTEP). It is my wm/desktop of my choice over
gnome/kde/enlightenment you might
want to give it a try?
