Yes, I sort of understand that :)
And I do want cvs access etc, I am hoping to develop some stuff
myself. 
But what I thought would be handy is that if I have it up to date locally, 
I can use it for cvsup on any machine on my network in a convenient way...
and just centralise my synchronisation in one place. So I
become a local mirror for my network so to speak. 

I will look at the ports you suggest anyway..thanks !
