Great advice! It did indeed solve the issue. This patch also helped me solve
a problem with a document I could not open under 6.2 and the "out-of-the-box"
version of OpenOffice. So it is a tremendous step forward.

Ludger, in the end, I did not have to upgrade other packages (they were up
to date already - the ports freeze for 7.0 was recent enough).
