Yes, I have X1400, and will be happy to test/try new drivers.
Native resolution (1400x1050) works well for me under VESA driver.

Most crucial features for me:
- support of second display (for xinerama)
- support of turning off back-light (to save battery power)

- sometimes, OpenGL support for some programs, like google-earth.=20
