Subject: Problem with X after crash

X crashed a while ago, and I had to kill their
processes from another virtual terminal. Since then,
my normal users can't use any graphical application
which uses sockets; no xterm, no netscape, nothing.
Whenever I try, there's a long delay and I get an
error message saying it's unable to open XInitSocket
or something like that. Everything works fine when i'm
using root. Also, I can't mount a cdrom, neither as
user nor as root; I keep getting 'device busy' error
instead. Of course, this also worked fine before the
crash.
Any clues?
Thanks
