Here's my problem. I run fvwm2 and have buttons and pager at the bottom of my screen (of course, the problem is not restricted to button/pager. That's just where I noticed it). If I'm on a desktop that is otherwise empty, the buttons/pager is noticeably fuzzy, but if I switch to a desktop with some xterms or other stuff, the fuzziness disappears. There seems to be an inverse relationship between bottom-fuzziness and screen-fullness! Also, if I move the buttons/pager toward the top of the screen, the fuzziness diminishes. This may have been going on for a while without my notice, because I used to have the buttons at the side of the screen and rarely would have anything at the bottom of an otherwise empty screen. Anyway, I'm just looking for suggestions. Is it a monitor problem? I don't know how old mine is. It was a hand-me-down gift from a friend: CrystalScan 1024. Video card problem? Graphics blaster MA202 2M RAM < 1 year old. Maybe it's my X-config? I picked this monitor, 31.5, 35.15, 35.5; Super VGA, 1024x768 @ 87 Hz interlaced, 800x600 @ 56 Hz which I think is right, and I chose my card from the list in xf86config. I use the 1024x768 resolution and run x with startx -- -bpp 16 never managed to get any greater color depth to work. Any thoughts? Thanks.
