Hi Jan,
Seeing how this PR is coming up on 2 years and nobody has stepped in to
maintain this port after gahr@ released it, maybe we should think about
deprecating the port?

Is it usable in other ways?
Or do we have to limit it to a static library only?

If nobody is going to spend time on this port, what should we do with it?
