Hi, I know this is probably a good candidate for a "read the docs"-kind of question, but is there anyone who can clarify me whats the exact situation for this "new" port that seem to have gotten stuck in the middle of it's path? https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=218844 I'm not very confident with the Ports' approval mechanism so I don't exactly understand what's going on... is there any hope to have Couchdb 2.x anytime soon in the pkgs? Thanks a lot for the clarification. -- Andrea Brancatelli From owner-freebsd-ports@freebsd.org Thu Jun 14 15:33:12 2018 Return-Path: <owner-freebsd-ports@freebsd.org> Delivered-To: freebsd-ports@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3C51F100E0B4 for <freebsd-ports@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org>; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mat@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C7B587065D for <freebsd-ports@freebsd.org>; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mat@FreeBSD.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 81043100E0B3; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:11 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: ports@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6CE67100E0B2 for <ports@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org>; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mat@FreeBSD.org) Received: from smtp.freebsd.org (smtp.freebsd.org [96.47.72.83]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 18A9F7065C; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mat@FreeBSD.org) Received: from ogg.in.absolight.net (ogg.in.absolight.net [IPv6:2a01:678:ab:50::42:42]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) (Authenticated sender: mat/mail) by smtp.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 87AE0FC30; Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mat@FreeBSD.org) Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2018 17:33:09 +0200 From: Mathieu Arnold <mat@FreeBSD.org> To: Andrea Brancatelli <abrancatelli@schema31.it> Cc: ports@freebsd.org Subject: Re: General clarification about ports and CouchDB 2.x specifically Message-ID: <20180614153308.uajbdu5j5s2zvah2@ogg.in.absolight.net> References: <c95aedbe74b41b4a70a0cd68cba68bc4@schema31.it> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha512; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="mfdqkffgo7kglfwl" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <c95aedbe74b41b4a70a0cd68cba68bc4@schema31.it> User-Agent: NeoMutt/20171215 X-BeenThere: freebsd-ports@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.26 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting software to FreeBSD <freebsd-ports.freebsd.org> List-Unsubscribe: <https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/options/freebsd-ports>, <mailto:freebsd-ports-request@freebsd.org?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: <http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/> List-Post: <mailto:freebsd-ports@freebsd.org> List-Help: <mailto:freebsd-ports-request@freebsd.org?subject=help> List-Subscribe: <https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports>, <mailto:freebsd-ports-request@freebsd.org?subject=subscribe> X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2018 15:33:12 -0000 --mfdqkffgo7kglfwl Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable On Thu, Jun 14, 2018 at 04:21:57PM +0200, Andrea Brancatelli wrote: > Hi,=20 >=20 > I know this is probably a good candidate for a "read the docs"-kind of > question, but is there anyone who can clarify me whats the exact > situation for this "new" port that seem to have gotten stuck in the > middle of it's path?=20 >=20 > https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D218844=20 >=20 > I'm not very confident with the Ports' approval mechanism so I don't > exactly understand what's going on... is there any hope to have Couchdb > 2.x anytime soon in the pkgs?=20 Looking quickly at it, the Makefile is a bit of a mess and needs a lot more cleanup, but that can be done by a committer. I think all it needs is a committer to take it on, clean it up, and commit it. I'll answer the PR with what I see needs cleaning up. --=20 Mathieu Arnold --mfdqkffgo7kglfwl Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQJ8BAABCgBmBQJbIoq0XxSAAAAAAC4AKGlzc3Vlci1mcHJAbm90YXRpb25zLm9w ZW5wZ3AuZmlmdGhob3JzZW1hbi5uZXQzQUI2OTc4OUQyRUQxMjEwNjQ0MEJBNUIz QTQ1MTZGMzUxODNDRTQ4AAoJEDpFFvNRg85IjVUP/12LRT2C9iy9kcIdBy5T9jYH mpfYr5vZXxcQ3BTW6aZulVH3uWGXt5JluDDZgrLEUB1znR6Ibpzg3o7h8EWGRSVg GjLVevFnSqIxWg5veYMCMriwnDZifoUd3UhnfUdZwXrDoASBfQg5DMkSAo9UnNCc 8r38kaGdq60Em1P8NYrXKiN5wmOApT5bfkeWSNgXcdjey6d/JTC+En9p4Fn7+XJC enRiXsWNvGMrWM7CcghOvPfWZkw2+tz3NHackdk8ecXfPN7E/RWhK4SPgVIUTsbE mUMFfFgsasTtU8jrTsVBH8VjUCK4pJqjerY8xQaOsx6gQIy0SnWaK/Vr+ZuXPLlh fh2k0DQ5mrA8MxomhnPrjhdn+et2AQJeYsnYSV6GshRiQPNmUVP3BnZ+gxwxBi7q vWWh8jxFpG1Ij7wZSEt5GZUJZLipcd7lfbSFcGcKskdxtEjHPddIIKYHPp/AIJSA yj9GOUcWGYQuLMVURM9YjKOcUJbSYdVsjeb+iYNATIKWjtUQCeWC6WLmVJi2qHmT rCQhrJA1Aa5B0u4mY8pgoWNO5IxW1/ikxztKJfjBVItRCtBt/nW2SARuVkfe0PtX rEpUL7jnLrDCaMGDAPw7rjcF0eTW5hRqrkNKBW3bavQ4QwcHxpppESkQQiXUzLbP aElXghHWnHDOw53Rv3m1 =yUrL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --mfdqkffgo7kglfwl--
