This freedom usually leads to insecure or simply broken-by-design ports in =
tree.
For an extreme case take a look at gentoo foundation. I don't want to end up
like them.

Policies should always present, but had to be designed to not limit creativ=
ity,
while enforcing rules. That's what you and the entire portmgr team exists f=
or.
