PORTEPOCH bumps should usually be avoided, as they can never go back (unless you move the port to a different name). How hard/long do you expect to get the fix? Marking the port BROKEN for a short while is probably fine, since vendor (as you've mentioned in another email) supports FreeBSD, and should probably facilitate in fixing it. ./danfe
