I'm trying to block out a site from accessing my system at all and for some odd reason I can't seem to get /etc/hosts.deny to work as I still get connections from the site. For instance if I want to block out all connections coming from abc.com -- the contents of /etc/hosts.deny is: ALL: .abc.com But oddly, that doesnt work. I tried -HUPing all processes (daemons) but i still get connections from anyone coming in from .abc.com -- what do I do to make sure that no one from a specific host is allowed to connect to the system? I even made a empty /etc/hosts.allow but that didn't do much... --------- PCVT problems. When I telnet to other sites and set the term emulation as VT220, when i log out, the screen gets messed up on my side -- everything prints on one line, or only 24 out of 25 lines (the top line gets chopped off) show up. SCON shows a slight error: VGA Chipset Manufacturer = S3 Incorporated VGA Chipset type = Unknown I'm using a Diamond Stealth Video -- S3_968. Perhaps I need to get a new PCVT code in order to fix this problem -- if so, where can I pick this up? The only way I currently fix this problem is by typing "reset" which is a little annoying sometimes.
