stated that they've done work in this area (some even claiming to have
a working driver), others were willing to donate equipment.

He has a working NetBEUI implementation for FreeBSD, and the LLC for
token ring is very, very close.  It would be nice if TR, NetBEUI, and
the FDDI stuff already in FreeBSD could share code there.
