that's funny because locally, I'm considered a Unix expert, basically
because I've heard of it ;-)

I've actually been subcontracted by local computer stores to go to their
customer's sites and re-install a system after a hard drive crash, set up
backup routines, get their systems to communicate with the main server in
another city, among other things even though my knowledge of Unix up to that
point consisted of:
ls = dir
and
everything is treated as a file

too funny. I maintain that the #1 requirement to being a computer expert is
"Don't be afraid of them [computers]".
