https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D229779 --- Comment #4 from Russell Haley <russ.haley@gmail.com> --- Hi Antoine,=20 I've been ruminating and have concluded that I could not agree to look into flavors without an exploratory run first. Let me further my request:=20=20 I remember looking into the "indirection package" that was on Debian Jessie= and thought it a good idea. My assumption at the time was that the ports system= was a better place to handle dependencies because well, that's where it was don= e on FreeBSD. As well, there are other members of the Lua community looking into "Unix" standardization and I was notified as the maintainer of Lua on FreeB= SD.=20 I'm all for making Lua better on FreeBSD, which is why I became the port maintainer for 5.3 and want the maintainer-ship for 5.4. If you - as representing the ports team - feel so strongly about fixing Lua then I would like to work towards the solution you think is best.=20 Therefore in the mindset of pushing Lua forward to a better solution, I wou= ld like to request an exp-run so that I can empirically catalogue the build failures and triage the situation. As evidence of my intent, please see the notes I left in the prior exp-run.=20 I ran out of time last year. This year I've made fixing Lua on FreeBSD my primary goal and I am hoping that my current opportunity doesn't slip away.= I look forward to working together with the ports team to improve FreeBSD in = any way I can, but I really need that exp-run first. :) Sincerely,=20 Russell Haley --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
