I am trying to install freebsd on my machine via ftp I have tried to install both 2.2.5 and 2.2.6 I have tried numerous network cards I keep getting to the same point after I enter in the ip address and gateway etc. I comes to a screen that says "Adding default route to 207.107.160.10" After about 10 minutes it comes up and says unable to resolve host ftp.freebsd.org. Now I know that the DNS is working because I can look up that host on any of my other machines. I believe that the interface is not coming up because I cannot ping the machine that I am trying to install to Help.....suggestions.....Is there anyway to manually put up the interface.
