Is that too small now? > Yeah, the very-small freebsd-boot suggests the bootcode has not been updated in a while, so doesn't understand the 'special' vdev concept etc. Likely what you want to do is: gpart delete -i 1 ada0 gpart delete -i 2 ada0 gpart add -t freebsd-boot -s 512k -a 4k ada0 gpart add -t freebsd-swap -a 4k ada0 Which should steal a bit of space from that swap partition to make the freebsd-boot larger. then: gpart bootcode -b /boot/pmbr -p /boot/gptzfsboot -i 1 ada0 to install the updated bootcode. -- Allan Jude
