Any teTeX'pert knowing how one can make both, teTeX and dvi2ps
live happily together? The dvips port asks for /usr/local/lib/texmf/fonts
as the default fonts directory and dvips installs itself into
/usr/local/lib/texmf while there seems to be also a 
/usr/local/teTeX/texmf/dvips directory.
