No error message is obtainable. AFter rebooting the machine, Disk RAID is destroyed (have to rebuild disks to restore). This problem happens every time for sure, no exception, and as early as Release 5.2 beta. In R5.2 or R5.2.1 RC1 there were ATA interrupt missing error messages poped out. However, except the "ata-1 slave failure" message in the dmesg (actually on this machine, ATA-1 is not used), R5.2.1 has no error/warning printed out, simply hangs silently. Before R5.2.1, the machine worked nicely with R5.1. The machine has a Tyan S2665 MB and a Promise TX4000 RAID card. Below is the dmesg info: Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
