I can > use atacontrol to build an array, but sysinstall won't detect the disk > pack. > A few more datapoints: my motherboard BIOS is up to date (ver. 3.7 from MSI for 6380 board), the BIOS on my controller is version 2.00.1030.23 (fastbuild is version 1.32) and Windows reports the controller's firmware to be of revision 1.10. I tried poking around with the cables, but they seem to be in order. The BIOS detects the disks as primary masters during the bootup sequence. The FastBuild utility says the same and the fact that they show up as ad4 and ad6 yet again confirms that. Interesting to notice that Windows (98) too sees the controller, but no disks attached. This leads me to believe I missed a step in setting this gear up, but I cannot think of anything I missed? So, what can I try? How come FreeBSD sees the disks using atacontrol, but sysinstall does not see them?
