I've edited scsiconf.c over and over to no avail, an mt -t /dev/rst0 status just hangs for 2-3 minutes and then returns with Present Mode: Density = 0x00 Blocksize variable ---------available modes--------- Mode 0: Density = 0x00 Blocksize variable Mode 1: Density = X3B5/88-185A Blocksize variable Mode 2: Density = X3B5/88-185A Blocksize variable Mode 3: Density = X3B5/88-185A Blocksize variable along with a scsi bus reset and lots of timeout errors in the log files. The device probing tells me st0(ahc0:5:0): Sequential-Access density code 0x13, drive empty even if a tape is loaded. Any ideas? -aage
