I'll assume you have more machines going using this as a gateway; otherwise, using PPP+pktAlias instead of plain PPP just introduce unneeded complexity. If not, could you go through the following list of things to try? (1) Run standard PPP from 2.1.6/2.1.7 - still problems? (2) If no to (1), disconnect your host from your local network, avoiding inference from other hosts and try PPP+pktAlias again. Problems? (3) If no to (2), something else on your network is sending packets - you might want to use tcpdump or ipfw to track it down. (4) If yes to (2), there is a problem in PPP+pktAlias - could you please check whether it is in 1.8 and 1.9 too? (I need to track when and how it occurred) (5) If yes to (1), and it has worked before, I'll have to track down what bug was introduced when in PPP. Please contact me off the list and we'll track it down. In any case, please give me details of what happens - I want to make PPP+pktAlias work as well as possible.
