Reasons for this include: * dhw@ is one individual, and is thus a single point of failure. postmaster@ is a team (currently, of three active members). * I apply rather different mail filtering rules to mail addressed to dhw@ vs. postmaster@. (E.g., mail that is not about mail-handling @FreeBSD.org that I receive and is addressed to postmaster@FreeBSD.org is nearly always considered "confirmed spam"; my mail client color-codes mail sent to postmaster@ uniquely so I can keep an eye out for it.) * Mail sent to postmaster@ is automagically archived on hub, so even if something happens to it such that the team members ignore or discard it, we still have a record of it. >How-To-Repeat: n/a >Fix: Index: en_US.ISO8859-1/books/dev-model/book.sgml =================================================================== RCS file: /cvs/freebsd/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/dev-model/book.sgml,v retrieving revision 1.19 diff -u -r1.19 book.sgml --- en_US.ISO8859-1/books/dev-model/book.sgml 15 May 2011 20:41:30 -0000 1.19 +++ en_US.ISO8859-1/books/dev-model/book.sgml 8 Sep 2011 15:57:55 -0000 @@ -940,7 +940,7 @@ Hat currently held by: - &a.dhw;. + the Postmaster Team postmaster@FreeBSD.org. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
