I know FreeBSD is free but the time taken to install the latest version, as well as re-install and test all the system and application software (and, more likely, end up upgrading to the near-latest versions of several packages because that's what comes with the latest version of FreeBSD) is going to cost me at least one week in time. I'm a consultant and charge my customer by the hour. Surely he's entitled to know whether the FreeBSD 2.2.5R he has in production is Y2K compliant or not instead of being forced to shell out a large amount of money for an upgrade, as would be warranted by acceptance of the above policy position?
