O FreeBSD Gurus, I have another question for you...
I own a FreeBSD 2.2.5 box, and I opened an account for my brother.
I do not know why he cannot change his password. When he tries
to do it, FreeBSD issues this message:
Michelle:/home/glenn> passwd
passwd: Permission denied
Now, the permisssions are:
Michelle:/home/glenn> ls -l `which passwd`
-r-sr-xr-x 2 root bin 32768 Oct 21 09:19 /usr/bin/passwd
Michelle:/home/glenn> ls -l /etc/*p*w*
-rw------- 1 root wheel 2134 Mar 26 23:45 /etc/master.passwd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1790 Mar 26 23:45 /etc/passwd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 40960 Mar 26 23:45 /etc/pwd.db
-rw------- 1 root wheel 40960 Mar 26 23:45 /etc/spwd.db
What is happening?
