The Sony PCG-F series and the 505's all seem to work relatively well with FreeBSD. Even the sound is supported as of 4.0. At FreeBSDCon last year, the laptops in the terminal room included: o Librettos, almost exclusively Japanese users o Dell, mostly Latitudes o IBM ThinkPads, ranging from 386 to PII. The percentag of ThinkPad users NOT running X seemed higher than other makes o Sony PCG-F (the big ones) o Sony 505 (the little ones) The Sonys were the most numerous, followed by about equal numbers of Dell and IBM. This was just observation, not a survey, so take it with a grain of salt. > One that's guaranteed NOT to work with FreeBSD is the iBook. :-) But you can get OS X for that. -- "Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket?"
