have you compiled a custom kernel?  What MAXUSERS are you using.  I'd
suggest raising MAXUSERS to at least 128.  Also, why FreeBSD 4.2?  4.4
is available and includes many security fixes, performance enhancements,
etc, so I'd also suggest you upgrade to 4.4.
