This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C04F61.29809AD0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Heya. I've just installed a BSD machine into my network, the machine doesn't = have a 'real' ip address, just a 192.168.0.x type address with = 255.255.255.0 as the netmask. I can ping the machine fine, and finger users without a problem. But when I go to either ftp or telnet to the machine it takes AGES for = the login prompt to come up, sometimes it even times out. when I sit on the machine and telnet/ftp to itself it works fine. I'm going from a 2000box to the bsd machine. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here. Please reply to mwatson@netspace.net.au Thanks. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C04F61.29809AD0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Heya.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2> I've just installed a BSD machine = into my=20 network, the machine doesn't have a 'real' ip address, just a = 192.168.0.x type=20 address with 255.255.255.0 as the netmask.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I can ping the machine fine, and finger = users=20 without a problem.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>But when I go to either ftp or telnet = to the=20 machine it takes AGES for the login prompt to come up, sometimes it even = times=20 out.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>when I sit on the machine and = telnet/ftp to itself=20 it works fine.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I'm going from a 2000box to the bsd=20 machine.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Anyone have any ideas what is going on=20 here.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Please reply to <A=20 href=3D"mailto:mwatson@netspace.net.au">mwatson@netspace.net.au</A></FONT= ></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Thanks.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C04F61.29809AD0-- _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
