Just a quick question, more for my own benefit than anything else: you
didn't happen to recently cvsup from RELENG_4, remake the world, and then
boot with an old kernel, did you, perhaps inadvertently?  I
(accidentally) did this and received the same kernel panic at boot time,
in the same process (ldconfig).

Just a thought.
