Hallo, I just tested the new package OOo_1.1.2_FreeBSD410-STABLEIntel_install_de.tgz on FreeBSD 4.10. The problem with arabic fonts (letters are put more or less on a heap) is also in this version. Going back to version openoffice-1.1.0_1 fixed the problem (there is another one with diacritical marks so). Did already anybody investigate whether this is somehow related to libfreetype2?
