Does anyone know if the package version of mpd-3.2 has MPPE
encryption compiled in? If not, that could be my whole problem ...

I may have found my own solution ... it's odd that I'll work on something
for a few days, and just when I decide to ask for help, I seem to figure
it out a moment later.
