I'm pretty sure that neither ext2 nor FAT32 can make a 2T filesystem. It's a limitation of the format. NTFS might work fine (use the fuse version) or ext3 might work (I'm fuzzy on that point). The other obvious choice would be to make partitions less than 1T.
