I'm gonna go out on a limb and say No Chance....hehehe..
You could try using the term mode in PPP to see if AOL allows plain text
user information (probably not), or try using the CHAP or PAP auth
protocols, but something tells me you should start looking for a new
ISP....

<excerpt> Hello everyone
Has anyone tried to dial up AOL with FreeBSD 3.2. If so, how
do I configure PPP? Or will I have to change my ISP? I have searched the
mail archives with no luck & that's a first. I must commend FreeBSD for
the way they have set this up, it really helps most of the time.
Thanks!
