Doug's original post was a little overboard, it seemed to me, but I'm certainly a bit wiser for the contention provoked. I think any newbie who took the trouble to read Greg's and Doug's posts would have gained something, and Doug did make a useful effort to explain things regarding the meaning of -release, -stable, etc. I appreciate Sue's concerns about newbies, but I don't find I learn well from peers, I learn much better from experts, contentious or not. Just as long as there's enough of them around to strike a balance.
