I will try that and get back to you in a couple of days when it
finishes compiling. :-(

I've had very few problems using portupgrade since it was introduced.
If it truly doesn't work here, it probably means a dependency or plist
problem with one or more of the ports.  It would be nice to be able
to fix that and have a better upgrade path that doesn't put one's
machine out of commission for so long.
