(2) Package repository doesn't contain a working i915kms for 12.1 (In reply to Niclas Zeising from comment #12) To fix (1) I propose a much simpler fix: Patch the kmod itself to take responsibility for checking whether the kernel is compatible, since the kernel otherwise assumes modules to be forward compatible.
