I don't know off the top of my head.  If you ask on java@gcc.gnu.org I'm
sure you'll get plenty of good answers.

Yes.  We also have a unique, and much faster native code interface
called CNI if you can afford to lose portability.

Most of us are afraid of messing around with Sun's stuff due to
licensing concerns.
