Ok, I hate to continue this thread but I have had the same problem as Paul. The generic kernel does not recognize the Intel EtherExpress (non pro) ethernet card. The kicker is that in my searches to find out why it was not supported, I read somewhere that the EtherExpress driver is no longer included in the generic kernel due to driver instability. At that point I was tried of the whole thing and gave up. If anyone finds and answer to this "problem" I would like to know the answer also, my "linux" experiment on that machine is about at to make me want to throw it out the window. -Chris > -----Original Message----- > From: jbg@masterplan.org [SMTP:jbg@masterplan.org] > Sent: Sunday, February 07, 1999 11:58 PM > To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: Re: Loading Intel EtherExpress card > > > > >"Paul Foss" <paulr@wans.net> writes: > >> device ix0 at isa? port 0x300 net irq 10 iomem 0xd0000 > > > >The EtherExpress ISA driver is called "ex", not "ix".
