That's why I asked if MASTER_SITES is set. The port works for me in general; it uses the correct servers and downloads php-5.1.1.tar.bz2 from one of the PHP mirror servers without any problems. But I get exactly the same error message as Jose if I set MASTER_SITES to a random value. Björn
