There are numerous tools for doing this; e.g., pkg_cutleaves and pkg_rmleaves. This is common because not all ports build with a given automake version, so the wrapper takes care of selecting the appropiate version. I would say that it's a waste of time to uninstall these since they take next to no space, and reinstalling them everytime you build something seems like a bigger waste in the long run. Andres
