It didn't work :-( The amd driver probes the scsi bus and finds the hard disk which is listed as (this is all typed in by hand) (amd0:0:0): "COMPAQPC DPES-31080 S31K" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 sd0(ams0:0:0): Direct-Access 0Mb (1 512 byte sectors) sd0(ams0:0:0): with 0 cyls, 64 heads, and an average 32 sectors/track I get the feeling something is slightly wrong here :-) The probes then continue as expected until sysinstall starts, I get the following message /stand/sysinstall running as init and then a completely blank screen. The machine is still running since I can scroll back up the console to read the boot messages and I can switch to the debug console, which says DEBUG: ioctl(3,TIOCCONS, NULL) = 0 (success) Any ideas? Are these problems related, is sysinstall falling over in some way because the disk info is a bit odd? Some extra info, since I booted verbose BIOS Geometries: 0:03e83f20 0..1000=1001 cylinders, 0..63=64 heads, 1..32=32 sectors 0 accounted for -- Paul Richards. Originative Solutions Ltd.
